[ET Net News Agency, 23 April 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$147.41
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$20.82 billion, or 14.12% of the market's
turnover. There were 675 short-selling stocks. HSCEI ETF (02828) and XIAOMI-W (01810) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$3.47 billion and HK$1.51 billion, or 16.66%
and 7.25% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 48.32%
and 13.78% of respective stock's turnover.
BYD COMPANY (01211) and BABA-W (09988) registered HK$1.48 billion and HK$1.31 billion of
short sales, accounting for 7.13% and 6.31% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 41.06% and 12.09% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF closed up HK$1.7, or 2.09%, to HK$83.22. XIAOMI-W ended up HK$2.85, or 6.42%,
to HK$47.25. BYD COMPANY rose HK$20.6, or 5.48% to HK$396.4. BABA-W jumped HK$6.4, or
5.82%, to HK$116.4.
