billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$35.71 billion, or 13.7% of the market's
turnover. There were 712 short-selling stocks. HSCEI ETF (02828) and BYD COMPANY (01211)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$4.19 billion and HK$2.22 billion, or
11.73% and 6.22% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
25.01% and 37.74% of respective stock's turnover.
XIAOMI-W (01810) and BABA-W (09988) registered HK$2.22 billion and HK$2.08 billion of
short sales, accounting for 6.2% and 5.84% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 12.91% and 12.65% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF closed up HK$1.6, or 1.96%, to HK$83.12. BYD COMPANY ended up HK$14.6, or
3.89%, to HK$390.4. XIAOMI-W rose HK$3.05, or 6.87% to HK$47.45. BABA-W jumped HK$6, or
5.45%, to HK$116.
