[ET Net News Agency, 25 April 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$116.36
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$12.7 billion, or 10.92% of the market's
turnover. There were 667 short-selling stocks. BYD COMPANY (01211) and TENCENT (00700) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$853.35 million and HK$782.58 million, or
6.72% and 6.16% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
37.85% and 9.33% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF (02828) and MEITUAN-W (03690) registered HK$664.34 million and HK$653.26
million of short sales, accounting for 5.23% and 5.14% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 18.18% and 14.71% of respective stock's
turnover.
BYD COMPANY closed up HK$10.6, or 2.72%, to HK$401. TENCENT ended up HK$12.6, or 2.68%,
to HK$483.6. HSCEI ETF rose HK$1.26, or 1.53% to HK$83.74. MEITUAN-W jumped HK$2, or
1.57%, to HK$129.
