[ET Net News Agency, 25 April 2025] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$208.04
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$25.59 billion, or 12.3% of the market's
turnover. There were 716 short-selling stocks. BYD COMPANY (01211) and HSCEI ETF (02828)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.1 billion and HK$1.42 billion, or
8.22% and 5.56% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
38.19% and 19.34% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W (09988) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$1.21 billion and HK$1.16 billion of
short sales, accounting for 4.74% and 4.54% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 12.68% and 8.42% of respective stock's turnover.
BYD COMPANY closed up HK$6.6, or 1.69%, to HK$397. HSCEI ETF ended up HK$0.38, or 0.46%,
to HK$82.86. BABA-W rose HK$1.8, or 1.58% to HK$115.6. TENCENT jumped HK$7.2, or 1.53%, to
HK$478.2.
